Organic Colorants

Producing highly engineered products in a sustainable way remains a challenge for most manufacturers. Consumers demand environmentally friendly products that still exhibit superior performance. Holliston's 100-year legacy of innovation, active research, and development allows us to meet this cross-cutting demand.

To add unique coloring to our cloth and fabric coverings, we employ a wide array of organic and eco-friendly colorants. To add strength, flexibility, and create a unique feel and texture for our product family, we add all-natural wheat, potato, or cotton starch to the raw cotton material.

Currently, more than 90% of our products are produced with water-based (or aqueous) coatings and colorants. Between 1991 and 2005, this practice reduced the amount of generated hazardous waste by 88%. Not surprisingly, we will continue to employ these eco-friendly components in future manufacturing.
