Made in America

It's no secret that many stores and catalogs sell mostly imported goods. Globalization and changes in consumer patterns have created new pressures for U.S. manufacturers and workers. Too often, however, this has meant that the U.S. no longer makes many of the goods we use every day.

Thankfully, there are still some of us who realize the importance of being "made in America."

Every Holliston product is made domestically, helping us maintain manufacturing jobs for Americans-each of which creates 5-8 additional jobs, ranging from suppliers, accountants, distributors and retail personnel to sell the products. When we lose a manufacturing job to offshore production, we lose the other jobs it created-as well as all those American dollars that aren't being recycled through our economy.

But keeping our facility in the United States doesn't just help the economy, it also improves the quality of our products and our customer service. Our employees are better educated, have years of experience in the manufacture of coated products, and often have a better work ethic than workers in other countries. So when it comes to book covers, jewelry packaging, and industrial fabric, the quality of our goods is often better than those offered by foreign competitors and our response time (if quality problems occur) is much more rapid. We are also able to manufacture a wider variety of products for our customers without the inevitable delays and costs associated with long ocean freight.

As Americans we do our best to protect our country. We are highly conscious of the environmental risks with many processes used by foreign competitors, and have worked hard to source environmentally friendly materials. We are also highly conscious of the potential risks posed if our security materials land in the wrong hands. That's why governments across the world count on our ability to control their security material and thereby protect us all.
